Poster campaign of TASMAC employees seek protection against "antisocials"

The Federation of  Trade Unions of TASMAC employees has started a poster campaign seeking security and protection to their lives and demanded the arrest of “antisocials” who attack TASMAC employees during ongoing protests against setting up of TASMAC shops in Coimbatore region.

The poster which was found pasted in all over the city has demanded action against the perpetrators of violence against TASMAC employees. The TASMAC employees have also petitioned District Collector TN Hariharan seeking protection against TMAC, who have been targeted during ongoing protests against relocation and shifting of TASMAC shops.

But Social Activists in the city beg to differ. “It is wrong on the part of TASMAC employees to brand all the protestors as antisocials. Indeed, members of public who are affected by the evils of liquor are spearheading the anti-liquor campaign which is going on in Tamilnadu. The people of Tamilnadu are at the receiving end of Government policy which is bent upon opening more outlets in all cities and towns. So a people's movement has gained momentum and it is not fitting to call the protestors as antisocials” they said.
